HADDONFIELD, NJ – February 8, 2012 – Bisgaier Hoff, LLC is pleased to announce that Jeffrey Newman has been named a Partner of the law firm. Newman is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and resides in Delran, NJ with his wife Sherri and their three children. The focus of his practice is general commercial litigation and construction disputes. Newman also has a strong background in maritime law.

Newman is a 1995 graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy and holds a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Prior to earning his law degree in 2003 from Catholic University of America, he served as an officer/engineer with the United States Coast Guard from 1995 to 2002.

Newman joined the firm last year, working closely with James Kozachek in the areas of commercial litigation and the resolution of construction disputes. He serves as a counsel to developers, owners, contractors, sub-contractors, engineers, architects and other design professionals in judicial proceedings, mediation and arbitration involving general commercial litigation and in construction defect and delay cases, contract disputes, lien claims, bid protests, insurance coverage litigation and contract negotiations. He has successfully resolved numerous "lost agreement of sale" cases, construction defect disputes, insurance coverage disputes, fraud, consumer fraud, contract, warranty, negligence and other consumer protection claims on behalf of both businesses and consumers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Newman has presented multiple lectures on the New Jersey Lien Law, the Consumer Fraud Act and contractor payment rights, obligations and remedies. He has been named a 2010, 2011 and 2012 "Rising Star" by New Jersey Super Lawyers.
